Rep. Bell Files Bill to Fund New Rosewood Middle School

Raleigh, NC – House Majority Leader John Bell (R-Wayne) filed House Bill 237 today to fund the construction of a new Rosewood Middle School in Wayne County. The school was built nearly 100 years ago.

“Rosewood Middle School, like far too many schools across the state, is in extremely poor condition and in desperate need to be replaced,” said Representative Bell. “This is a top priority for me, and I will continue to work with my colleagues in Raleigh, as well as our local school board members and county commissioners to advocate for this important need in Wayne County.”

Specifically, the legislation allocates $20 million to Wayne County for the school’s construction.

“I fully support Leader Bell’s efforts to fund the construction of a new Rosewood Middle School in Wayne County,” said Senator Jim Perry. “There is a critical need for school construction funding in Wayne County and across rural North Carolina. This is long overdue and much needed for the students, families, teachers and staff.”
