About Rep. John R. Bell, IV
Representative John R. Bell IV is a native of Mount Olive, NC and is a graduate of North Duplin High School and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Rep. Bell was first elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives in 2012 and is currently serving his fifth term – representing District 10, which includes Greene, Johnston and Wayne counties.
Rep. Bell was elected by his colleagues to serve as the House Majority Whip in 2015. In 2016, he was then elected the House Majority Leader and has been re-elected for the 2017-2018 and 2019-2020 sessions.
As a strong and passionate advocate for Eastern NC, Rep. Bell has been a leading voice for our agriculture, military and rural communities. During his time in office, he has also fought to help improve the quality of life for all North Carolinians through fewer taxes, improved education, balanced budgets, new jobs and protecting freedom and opportunities. He has proudly championed legislation that supports our farmers, veterans, sportsmen, students and service members.
Rep. Bell continues to be active in the community by serving on the Tuscarora Council for the Boy Scouts of America, Advisory Board for the State Employees Credit Union, Wayne County Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Committee and Rotary International. Rep. Bell resides in Rosewood, NC with his wife Kelli and his a daughter, Averi.
